Dickson Electric System Chooses Efacec ACS for New SCADA Deployment
The TVA distributor will enjoy enhanced visualization and implement peak demand reduction using CVR application
ATLANTA – [November 4, 2013] - Efacec ACS has been selected by Dickson Electric System (DES) to provide its new SCADA system, including a suite of smart grid tools designed to maximize grid efficiency and advance reliability. DES is a public utility serving 35,000 customers in five counties just west of Nashville, TN. The system being delivered to DES is Efacec ACS’ open-architecture and highly-available PRISMTM system, featuring redundant Linux servers and an advanced operator interface on high-performance Windows-based workstations. Applications to be integrated with the system include:

• eAlarm Email alarm/event notification
• Redundant ICCP links
• Network Topology Processor
• MultiSpeak interface to Sensus AMI
• PRISM Conservation Voltage Reduction
A critical element of the new system for DES is the deployment of the Efacec ACS Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR) application. The use of CVR will enable Dickson to help lower its TVA demand charges during times of peak energy use, while using feedback from the AMI system to ensure that customer use voltages are maintained within the ANSI C84.1 (114-126 volt) range.

Cleveland Public Power to Deploy SCADA System from Efacec ACS
ATLANTA – June 19, 2013 - Efacec ACS, a global provider of smart grid solutions, has been selected to install a complete turn-key PRISM™ SCADA system to Ohio’s largest municipally owned electric utility, Cleveland Public Power (CPP). The new system will be utilized for control of CPP’s sub-transmission, as well as the utility’s distribution system.

Morristown Utility Systems reduces peak energy demand with conservation voltage reduction (CVR) from Efacec ACS
ATLANTA – October 16, 2013 – Morristown Utility Systems (MUS) has deployed conservation voltage regulation (CVR) technology from Efacec ACS across its transmission and distribution systems, allowing it to conserve voltage in a load-responsive manner while keeping within the ANSI C84.1 (114-126 volt) range required for end-use voltage in North America. The VR application runs on MUS’ PRISM SCADA System from Efacec ACS, using end-of-line voltage alarms provided by the utility’s Tantalus AMI system to enable highly accurate closed-loop-control capability.
DELSUR Electric Distribution Company to Deploy OMS/DMS from Efacec ACS
ATLANTA – May 29, 2013 - Efacec ACS, a global provider of smart grid solutions, has been selected to deliver important smart grid technology to one of the largest electric distribution companies in El Salvador, the Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur, SA de CV (DELSUR). The delivery will include a new outage management system (OMS) and distribution management system (DMS), along with enhanced security features and application redundancy. The project includes an upgrade to the existing Efacec ACS PRISM SCADA system and integration with the utility’s geospatial information system (GIS) and other corporate systems.
